Taylor
Hawes is Controller for Finance Operations at Microsoft Corporation. Mr.
Hawes is responsible for the design and delivery of Microsoft's "Next
Generation Reporting Platform." He is also currently leading a project
called OneFinance which is focused on driving business process
excellence for 92 subsidiaries in 36 languages for global finance
operations.
Previously, Taylor was the Assistant Corporate Controller for Microsoft and was accountable for many of the key activities in Microsoft's finance center. In his central controller function he was responsible for management accounting policy, internal controls, global forecasting, planning & analysis as well as management and statutory ledger consolidations. Taylor also started the management reporting group at Microsoft and was instrumental in the design and creation of online reporting and the first finance web site called "FinWeb." Currently Taylor and his team are working on deploying XML based reporting using a variety of Microsoft technology.
Before joining Microsoft, Taylor was the North America Controller for U.K. based Raleigh Bicycle Corporation. Previous experience included positions with Arthur Andersen in both the audit and management consulting practices. Taylor received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Southern California and currently sits on the curriculum committee for the Leventhal School of Accounting. He is also active with Financial Executives International as chairman on the Committee for Finance and Information Technology, and is an executive board member of Financial Executives Research Foundation.
