The Excellence in Information Integrity (EII) Awards Program

Information Integrity is the dependability and trustworthiness of information. More specifically, it is the accuracy, consistency and reliability of the information content, and associated processes, systems and environments.

Since 1995, the prestigious Excellence in Information Integrity (EII) Awards have been presented to organizations that have put forth a concerted effort to provide accurate, consistent and reliable information to their customers, suppliers and partners.

Through the Excellence in Information Integrity Awards Program, the Information Integrity Coalition (IIC) seeks to increase awareness of the importance of Information Integrity and draws attention to significant economic benefits of managing and improving Information Integrity.

All organizations in business, government and society should be concerned about Information Integrity and are impacted by Information Integrity failures. However, Information Integrity has not been recognized as a pervasive and critical issue in most organizations.

Should Your Organization Apply for the EII Awards?

  • The EII Awards Program are open to any organization that has made exceptional demonstrable progress towards achieving Information Integrity, whether through a single project or an enterprise-wide effort.
  • In 2009, the Awards Program will recognize For-Profit and Non-Profit organizations. In each category, there will be up to three award levels: Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Is Your Organization Eligible?

An applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a relevant project focused specifically on achieving Information Integrity (accuracy, consistency and reliability of information content, associated processes, systems and environments) rather than just implementing an information technology (IT) project.
  • Demonstrate Information Integrity issues/opportunities and its impact with quantitative data.
  • Investigate and share root causes of Information Integrity issues/opportunities.
  • Provide specific Information Integrity solutions to address root causes.
  • Provide quantitative Information Integrity results using the chosen solutions.
  • Show that they are sustaining Information Integrity results within their organizations.

Judging Process Overview

Overview:

  • Applications are reviewed by a panel of independent judges who are advocates of Information Integrity.
  • Applicants are scored for addressing their organization’s Information Integrity needs with demonstrable results and for using best practices on a sustained basis.
  • The judges look for examples of best practices and improvements as well as quantifiable accomplishments.
  • Independent scores and comments are reviewed collectively by the judges to determine the winners in each category.

  • Relevance of the problem solved to Information Integrity
  • Impact of the problem and the solution on the organization
  • Identification of root causes of the Information Integrity problem
  • Explicit best practice examples
  • Clearly quantifiable benefits of Information Integrity solutions
  • Sustainability of Information integrity solutions
